Acne

Acne is a very common disorder of the oil glands of the skin. It affects 80% of us during our lives, mostly between 15 and 30 years of age. Acne includes everything from an occasional blemish, whiteheads, blackheads and pimples in their severest form, all of which can be helped by proper treatment.

The aim is to unblock the ducts below the skin and your chemist or doctor will suggest the most appropriate method for you. Treatments take time, so be patient. It may take a couple of months to produce good results but here are some tips that may help you in the meantime.

  • Wash the area with mild soap once or twice a day. Dry gently and don't scrub.
  • Don't try to squeeze out blackheads, whiteheads and pimples as you may damage your skin.
